Biography

Michael was born in 1985 in San Antonio, Texas. He began his musical training at the age of seven by taking piano lessons and eventually he moved to playing tuba in middle and high school band. After high school, he attended The University of North Texas and received a Bachelor of Music in composition in 2008. In spring 2010 he received a Master of Music in composition from The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. His principal composition instructors have been Mara Helmuth, Michael Fiday, Cindy McTee, Donald Grantham, David Bithell, and David Schneider. Michael has had his music played by such ensembles as The Dallas Wind Symphony brass choir, The University of North Texas Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band, The University of Cincinnati

Wind Ensemble and Brass Choir, and The Ball State University Wind Ensemble. Currently, Michael is pursuing a teaching certification at The University of Texas at San Antonio in order to teach high school band in the future.
